Miso Orange Dressing is a bold one! Fresh ginger and garlic add spice and huge flavor, while honey and orange provide sweet and balance. Miso is a complex ingredient, a fermented soybean product, and I won’t try to explain it here as I don’t think I have the vocabulary to do it justice. Taste it for yourself and you’ll see what I mean. The darker the color of the miso, the more funk it has. I like using a light miso for this recipe – at the store, head to the international aisle and look for the words “light”, “white”, or “sweet” on the package.
NOTES FOR MISO ORANGE DRESSING
- This recipe goes great dressed on some simple greens or over cooked rice, but for something a little more satisfying try Miso Mushroom and Tofu Salad.
- There are a few fresh ingredients for this recipe, and it could be a little tedious if you don’t have fresh ginger, garlic, and an orange on hand. You could use bottled and packaged products and it’ll still turn out tasty, but procuring the fresh ingredients will always separate a good salad from a great salad.
